It seems the tragic events that led to the death of my phone -- that sad, lonely night it spent alone in a puddle -- had a silver lining. Well, fine, the phone didn't die, but it stopped reliably making noise, which is a problem of you, like, you know, want to, like, HEAR THINGS.
So, the good part: I had been coveting an iPhone for ever and kept telling myself not to buy one till the holidays, when I might more reasonably expect to be flush with cash. I might not have even bought one then, if I kept telling myself to be all financially responsible and shit. But! Who can worry about all that when faced with the tragic death of a beloved cell phone? It was a purchase born out of grief and nevessity, i tell you.
Good bye, old phone. You've been good, but you've also been replaced.
